cohorts 2023–2025 · 2026Each institution's own students of this programme, counted exactly as the programme across Chile, which heads the table. First-year dropout is the share of everyone who started there in 2023–2025 who was enrolled at no institution at all the following year: everyone who dropped out over everyone who started, the three cohorts added together, never an average of three percentages. Still in the programme is the share enrolled in it at the same institution the next year; the rest changed programme or institution. Graduation is the 2020 cohort for every row, with a title in this programme from any institution within 5 years. Employment and income are SIES's own figures for each institution, as published. A window with fewer than 30 entrants carries no rate.

Read the size beside the rate: with a hundred entrants, one person moves the figure by a point, so a gap of two or three points from Chile can be chance. First-year dropout counts whoever was enrolled nowhere the following year; some return a year or two later, and the register of one year cannot tell a pause from leaving. Students are followed for the institution as a whole, not by campus. The fee is the list fee of its campuses in 2026, before free tuition, grants or loans. 50 of the 4,299 entrants of 2023–2025 started at institutions where the programme never reached 10 entrants in a year; they are in Chile's row and not listed.

First-year dropout is the share of the institution's entrants to this programme in 2023–2025 who were enrolled at no institution the following year, counted by PuroChile on Mineduc's register for the institution as a whole — the same on each of its campuses; "—" is fewer than 30 entrants. The first five columns are Mineduc's enrolment register for 2026: the campus, its first-year entrants (1–2 where there were fewer than three), the mean yearly list fee of those entrants (a fee filed in UF reads "UF"), the formal length in semesters, the timetables, and under the name the institution's accreditation as the register files it. The last three are what SIES publishes on mifuturo.cl (release 2025-2026) for the institution and this generic programme — the same figure on every campus of an institution, because SIES does not publish them by campus. "s/d" means SIES did not publish it, usually because fewer than eleven graduates could be matched.
Who stays, who changes, who drops out
cohorts 2023–2025Everyone who started this programme in a year is looked up in the next year's enrolment register by the masked id Mineduc publishes for that purpose. There are four ways to be found: still in this programme at the same institution; at the same institution in another programme; at another institution (in this programme or another); or not enrolled anywhere. That last one is first-year dropout. Changing programme is not dropping out: that person is still studying. And not every dropout is final — some come back a year or two later, which one year's register cannot see. The bar adds up the cohorts of 2023–2025: everyone in each outcome over everyone who started, not an average of the three years. It is set beside every technical (ip and cft) programme, counted the same way. A window or a cohort under 30 people carries no rate.
4,299 people started it in 2023–2025; 725 were enrolled nowhere the following year (16.9%) and 288 changed programme or institution (7%). Across every technical (ip and cft) programme: 22.0% dropped out.
Each point is one cohort, the year it started, found the next year. The last one, 2025, had 1,748 people: 16.2% enrolled nowhere in 2026, 78% still in the programme. A single year moves more than the three-year window above; read the line for its direction.
Who graduates, and when
titles 2007–2025The same cohorts followed into the register of titles: the share with a title in this generic programme, from any institution, by years since they started. 5 years is the formal length rounded up plus one. A recent cohort has a short line, not a low one: the register goes to 2025. Some programmes award an intermediate title on the way; the register does not tell them apart.
Horizontal axis: years since entry (0 is the year they started).
627 people started in 2020. "Titled in another" is someone whose first title of the same level is in a different generic programme.
How long it really takes
titles 2023–2025Titles of 2023–2025 in regular plans: from the start of the semester of entry to the date of the title, against the formal length. On average 4.7 years for a formal 4.0. 1,764 of 1,772 titles have the dates to be measured.
After graduating
mifuturo.cl · 2025-2026What SIES publishes for this programme at each institution, crossing its graduates with their tax returns. Employment is the share of 2021–2023 graduates who earned at least the minimum wage the year after their title; income is the band of the average gross monthly income in the fourth year, for 2018–2020 graduates up to age 30. Each dot is an institution — there is no average across them, because an institution is not a sample of the programme. Hover a dot for its name.
| Institution | Employed, year 1 | Year 2 | Income, year 4 | Retention, year 1 | Real length, sem. | Keep studying |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| IP DUOC UCProfessional institute · Ingeniería en Marketing y Administración mención Marketing | 60.5% | 71.6% | $1.2–1.3 M | 79.6% | 9.4 | 2.0% |
As published by SIES on mifuturo.cl, release 2025-2026: incomes are gross, in pesos of September 2025, and count only graduates earning at least the minimum wage; "keep studying" is the share of 2021–2023 graduates enrolled again the following year. SIES publishes nothing for a combination with fewer than eleven graduates it can match, which is why some institutions that teach this programme are missing and some figures read "n/a". mifuturo.cl
Is it growing or shrinking?
2007–2026From 2017–2019 to 2024–2026, its yearly intake went from 435 to 1,694 on average: +289%. Since 2007–2009: +741%. Each figure compares three-year averages, never two single years; the windows leave out 2020–2021, the dip every programme has. More entrants is more places and more demand, not a better programme; fewer is not a worse one.
63% of its 2026 entrants are women; in 2007, 39%.
