Dimensions

Six ways to read the same 419 territories. Each dimension draws on the source that measures it best, and says which one that is.

Politics sits outside the six: the 2025 election is a year past PuroChile's 2024 cross-section, so its figures are not indicators and are read on a page of their own. The 2025 elections →

The six dimensions are not six separate tables — they are six questions asked of the same 419 territories, and the ribbon widths say who answers each one. The census carries most of PuroChile; poverty and health access come from a sample survey that expands to a different population; pay, firms and formal employment come from a tax register that reaches back twenty years; and what each class of school leavers went on to study comes from two school registers joined on the id the ministry publishes in both. Health enters through two doors: who has Fonasa or a private insurer is what the survey says, and who ends up in a hospital bed is what the health ministry's discharge register says.

Width is the count of published figures, not of indicators: an indicator that exists for all 419 territories weighs more than one the source only publishes nationally. Casen and the census expand to different populations and are never multiplied together — the cross-source indicators declare it on their own row.
