Years of schooling of those aged 15+; employment over the population aged 15+; unemployment over the labour force; income poverty; Fonasa and uninsured over the whole population. Survey estimates. How it is measured

Four registers, no index
Every figure is a sum of what a Chilean body published: Aduanas (trade), INE (2024 census), the Ministry of Social Development (Casen 2024) and SERVEL (the roll abroad). No «relationship» index joins them: they are shown side by side.
The map
A line joins Chile and a country and says how much: a relationship, not the route of a ship or a person. Each country's shade is the same figure on a log scale, so a small partner does not vanish next to China. The world outline is Natural Earth's (public domain), in the Equal Earth projection, which keeps area: no country looks bigger for being far from the equator. The outline contributes no figure.
Born abroad
The census and the Casen ask where the mother lived when the person was born. That is the definition of born abroad in both, and the Ministry's, whose tables by country of birth the Casen figures here reproduce one by one.
Census and Casen are not mixed
The Casen expands to projections based on the 2017 census (some 20 million people) and the 2024 census counted 18.48 million. So a Casen share is never multiplied by a census count, and their totals of the foreign-born differ.
What is not here
Services, foreign investment and remittances sent from Chile: none of the four sources records them. Nor foreigners living in Chile by nationality rather than birthplace, except in the Casen row «holding Chilean nationality».
