How it is measured

What is not here
Censo 2024: INE does not name it; Casen 2024: fewer than 300 people born there were surveyed.
Trade
Every export and import declaration Aduanas processed, added up. Exports are valued FOB and imports CIF. The figures at the top add up January–July 2026, against the same months a year before; a country has a trade profile if it moved at least US$ 1.0 million with Chile over every month the databases cover.
Born there
The 2024 census and the Casen 2024 ask the same thing: in which comuna or country the mother lived when the person was born. The census counts everyone; the Casen is a survey expanded to projections based on the 2017 census, so its totals differ. The two are shown side by side and never multiplied together.
Which country has a Casen profile
One with at least 300 people born there surveyed: with fewer, a rate moves by whole points from one household to the next. The Ministry publishes the same profile for seven countries, and every figure it publishes is rebuilt here and has to match.
Chileans there
SERVEL's roll counts the Chileans registered to vote abroad, by country. It leaves out those who did not register and their underage children: it is a floor, not the number of Chileans living there.
